Week 1

Hello again!!  Well this week has gone by pretty quickly.  I have spent most of my free time practicing hand stitching techniques that I have learned from numerous sites on the web.  Don't worry though, I know that hand stitching would be painfully slow, so I just bought a sewing machine that should help the process go a little quicker; I will keep you guys posted on how that turns out.  However, as for stitching by hand, it is actually a pretty easy skill to learn...I highly recommend it.  I also managed to sketch out a few more character concepts for the Channel Changers line that I hope you will love....stay tuned!!!!!

In the beginning...

Hey Everyone!! Welcome to what I am sure will be an interesting journey into the world of plush toy design. Just to give you guys a quick background, I am currently a professional toy designer working for a pretty big corporation. However, most of the toys I work on are mostly plastic and electronic. As a result, I wanted to teach myself how to "professionally" sew and create some pretty nifty things in the process.

I first starting throwing around the idea of creating my own line of Channel Changers when I noticed that a few companies starting making collectible plush characters. I thought this was a cool idea because you see collectible vinyl toys all the time, but plush is something fairly unique. As a result, these are the main examples that caught my eye and inspired my designs...

Right now, I already have some designs in the works which I will be posting in the coming weeks, but my biggest challenge will be learning how to sew... So, if you guys have any easy to follow and informative sites or instructions, please send them my way! Wish me luck!!!
